Description:

Rafting is a river sport performed on rivers with high flow rates using boats called rafts (rafts). The main thing in rafting is to pass the raft you are in through rocks and obstacles by steering it with a paddle without tipping it. Rafting is done in teams of 4 to 6 people and being successful requires being a team that acts as a single body. In this sport, rivers are divided into six degrees according to their difficulty. The 6th degree is called the most difficult courses, and the 1st degree is called the easiest courses

History:

In America, it was used to carry loads safely on rivers in the early 1900s. Rafts are preferred for river transportation due to their structure that can move in all types of rivers and the sturdy material they are made of. Boats used for landing purposes during World War II attract the attention of other countries and become widely used. Sports use also begins in America. A club established to conduct exploratory river journeys and various activities takes the name "Sobek Expedition" in 1973 and begins to conduct explorations in various countries around the world. This team is the first to cross the Coruh in 1982. Rafting and white water rafting are recreational outdoor activities that use an inflatable raft to navigate a river or other body of water. This is usually done on white water or varying degrees of rough water. Dealing with risk and the need for teamwork is often part of the experience. As an adventure sport, the activity has evolved since the 1950s, if not earlier, from individuals swinging 10-ft (3.0 m) to 14-ft (4.3 m) to single-headed rafts using double-bladed oars or paddles, paddle-winged paddles and paddles, propelled by a person at the stern or by the use of oars.

Field Measurements:

Performed on rapids with an average depth of 500 m and a total length of 12 km.
