Description:

Snowboarding is a sport played on snow. The only difference from Surfboarding and Skateboarding is that it is played on snow. Snowboard boards are generally 140–165 cm long and 24–27 cm wide, and this length and width change in proportion to height and weight. Snowboarding is not such a popular sport that it dates back to a very old history. Its birth dates back to the 1960s and 70s, and its first entry into the Winter Olympics was in 1998. Of course, this period does not apply to Türkiye. Although it was started to be made by some people in Turkey in 1993-1994, it took 4-5 years for it to become popular.

History:

In the 1960s, the first foundations of snowboarding were laid with a small ski type rope at the end and a rough section from the middle to the back where you stand to prevent slipping and a shape similar to sleds. The first owner of this idea was actually Sherman Poppin. In the early 1970s, it was thought of and prototypes were created by the surfboard design group consisting of Bob Webber, Tom Sims, Jake Burton Carpenter, Chuck Barfoot and Dimitrijie Milovich. Bob Webber, one of them, patented the Snowboard in 1972 and produced the first official Snowboard. Burton, who was a university student who participated in snowboard competitions in the beginning, later set his mind to developing it. Those who were already interested in snowboarding have already heard some of these surnames. The Burton Company, founded by Jake Burton Carpenter, which received the patent from Bob Webber in 1990, is still one of the most popular brands in the Snowboard sector today. Snowboards, which were first designed in a sled style, were later added bindings to provide ease of use, which increased the popularity of Snowboards. Today, Snowboarding has reached the level of skiing the shoe. Especially the design of their clothes in a style close to daily clothes, the sideways and flexible stance of the Snowboarder have suddenly made Snowboarding a passion, especially among young people. People with skiing backgrounds have quickly wanted to learn Snowboarding, while those who are too lazy have started a smear campaign against Snowboarding...
